Facilities Available

The ISRO sanctioned Rs.20.85 lakhs for setting up of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System (RS-GIS) facilities at the Department. PC work-stations, scanners, printers including AO plotter and digital Image Processing (ERADAS) and Arc GIS softwares and multimedia teaching aids are available at the Geoinformatics Laboratory.

 

Consultancy Work Offered by Department

1. Consultancy project entitled “Environmental Impact Assessment related to Common facility for Bio-medical Waste Treatment and Disposal in Gulbarga” was implemented for Centre for Environment Education (CEE), sponsored by Indo-Norwegian Environment Programme, Department of Forest, Ecology & Environment, Government of Karnataka during 2001.
2. "Rapid Environment Impact Assessment Studies of Bhima Lit Irrigation Scheme in Afzalpur Taluka in Gulbarga District (Quantification of flora and fauna to be affected in the downstream side)" sanctioned by the Karnataka Neeravari Nigama Limited (KNNL), Bhima Lift Irrigation Scheme (BLIS) Division, Afzalpur was implemented in 2006.
3. "Environmental Site Assessment Phase - I" was implemented for M/s ALSTOM Projects India Ltd., Shahabad during 2006.
